Dave came up in the downtown NY City scene where every street corner you turned there was something coming out of a club you that you'd want to check out. Dave appeared in clubs like the legendary CBGBs, The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory sometimes headlining, sometimes acting as a sideman in other bands.

Dave was popular on the NY studio scene, in demand as a session guitarist as well as live performer. Over the years, Dave has worked with many influential players, including Page Hamilton of Helmet, and post-punk dance band, New Order. Dave has appeared on TV various times including an opening sequence of the show Kate & Allie starring Jane Curtain and Susan St. James.
