MADDY O.
Maddy O. is a Nashville-based singer/songwriter originally from New Jersey. Growing up in a musical family, Maddy was surrounded by music and songwriting from a young age. Her early influences included The Beatles, Queen, and Bob Dylan, while a lifelong love of poetry and writing instilled in her a deep appreciation for the power of words. Later influences including Sierra Ferrell, Hayley Heynderickx, and Noah Kahan helped shape the indie-folk sound she gravitates toward today.
After graduating from nursing school, Maddy moved to Nashville in 2018, where she began immersing herself in the city’s songwriting community. She has played a variety of shows and collaborated with fellow Nashville musicians, and is preparing to release her debut EP, Of Ferns and Friends, this fall. Her music draws heavily from her love of nature and the outdoors, weaving themes of connection, presence, relationships, and personal growth into her songwriting.
Outside of music, Maddy is a longtime volunteer with Harmony Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and an avid hiker. Her adventures have taken her to many remote landscapes, including parts of Alaska, the Canadian Rockies, and Peru, where she completed the 50-mile Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. These experiences in nature and travel have become an important source of inspiration for her songwriting, shaping the way she observes the world and finds meaning in the small moments of life.
