BRONX CASKET CO.

If you ever hoped that Type O Negative would just break out and be metal, you just discovered your new favorite band. The Bronx Casket Co. was founded by Overkill bassist and main songwriter DD Verni. The first self-titled “Bronx Caset Co.” was originally released in Europe by Massacre Records in 1999, and followed up by “Sweet Home Transylvania” in 2001, “Hellectric” in 2005 and “Antihero” in 2011.

Verni’s clear groove oriented bass drives the entire band along with drummer Tim Mallare (Overkill, M.O.D.) on the first 3 releases and Rob Pallota (25 ta Life) on the later. Along with keyboardist Charlie Calv (Angel, Shotgun Symphony) offering everything from a chiller thriller sound to dramatic sorrow laden atmospheric sounds. Guitars provide by Jack Frost (Savatage, Seven Witches, Lizzy Borden) remain chunky, heavy and when the solo opportunities arrive, rip. Lyrics and melodies express a dark, disturbing and satirical sliver of Verni’s personality that Overkill’s thrash style never could. The Bronx Casket Company just raised the benchmark for doom and goth. Originally fronted by Myke Hideous (The Misfits, Empire Hideous) on the first 3 albums with DD taking over vocals full time on Antihero.
